Merging Communities for Education: A Bodo Initiative FundraiserSubmitted by Sandy Seppala on Wed, 2009-11-11 21:00.
Embassy of Kenya, 2249 R St.,
NW, Washington, D.C.
Friday, December 4, 6:00-8/9 pm
Living in America, we all have had the privilege of attending high school after middle school and for some, even going on to college. In Kenya, this privilege is only available to a minority who can afford the school fees that are required for a high school education.
Sponsoring a student’s education opens many doors: educating citizens who can give back to their community, increasing chances of better employment later on and self-enlightenment.
The Education for the Future Foundation: Bodo Initiative invites you to join friends and a diverse community in celebrating the beauty of education and uniting to provide the eager students in Bodo Village, Kenya, with the chance to realize their right to education.
Enjoy FOOD, MUSIC, and SPEAKERS!!
Remember to bring your checkbook and cash and help us meet our goal of raising enough money and finding enough new sponsors to support the education of five more Bodo students!!
Please contact Lydia (lgspital@gmail.com) to RSVP and for any questions or comments. We look forward to seeing you there! Post new comment |
