It is important for all Africans and those who care about Africa to see this movie. The title does not do justice to the substance of the movie. It covers the fishing industry in Lake Victoria, the environmental crisis, how some African governments are selling out Africa piece by piece, how some Europeans are benefiting from African's natural resources and exporting weapons to armed conflict areas in Africa, commercial sex work, HIV, and religion. The intersection of all these issues and their consequences are included in what the movie is trying to convey.

After the film, Raymond A. Winbush, Ph.D. Director, Institute for Urban Research, will start a discussion regarding the film and how it relates to problems in Africa today. He is an expert on issues related to reparations for Africans.

Ray Winbush is a scholar-activist in the area of slave reparations and is the author of The Warrior Method: A Program for Rearing Healthy Black Boys (New York: Amistad/HarperCollins, 2001). Based on their generous contribution, The Warrior Institute at Morgan State University was started by Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith who are using Winbush's book to raise their own sons. His other book, also Should America Pay?: Slavery and the Raging Debate on Reparations, is considered a primary text in understanding reparations for the TransAtlantic Slave Trade. He currently serves as Director of the Institute for Urban Research at Morgan State University.
