New NGO for School in MasenoSubmitted by Sandy Seppala on Sat, 2005-12-17 12:52.
A new NGO, called Joining Hearts and Hands, dedicated to the self-sustainability of the children of the Mbaka Oromo Primary School in Maseno, Kenya, has been established. Its purpose is to rebuild the school, provide scholarships for students to attend beyond Standard 8 and provide health care. Principals of Joining Hearts and Hands are William and Joanne Cala and James B. Nowak. Bill Cala is the superintendent of the Fairport Central Schools in suburban Rochester, NY, and Joanne is a counselor. James is a retired teacher who has been working closely with this Luo village in Kenya. For more information about this project and how you can help, e-mail Jcala@rochester.rr.com.Post new comment |
